Privacy at PairPlay
PairPlay operates pairplay.io and is responsible for information processed through the platform. We collect only what is reasonably needed to run and protect the games. Questions can be sent to privacy@pairplay.io.
Information you give us
This can include names or nicknames, optional profile photos, game answers, guesses, scores, result links, online room activity, and messages sent to support. Couple Court also uses the case topic, email addresses, and each person's private testimony. A profile photo is optional and is used only for the game experience unless you choose to share a result containing it.
Information collected automatically
We process basic browser, device, cookie or local-storage identifiers, IP and network information, timestamps, and security events. These signals help the platform keep sessions working, enforce free-play limits, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
How we use information
We use information to run local and online games, connect invited partners, create and secure Couple Court cases, calculate and deliver results, restore PairPlay+ access, process subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent fraud, and improve reliability. PairPlay game results are entertainment and do not produce legal or similarly significant decisions.
Optional website analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics,” we use Microsoft Clarity on our public homepage and pricing page to understand visits, referral sources, device types, clicks, scrolling, and interaction recordings. Microsoft receives technical request information, page and campaign URLs, and browser-generated analytics identifiers. We do not load Clarity before you consent or when you decline, and advertising storage consent remains denied.
Clarity is not loaded on game setup, gameplay, results, invitation, sign-in, support form, or account pages. We also exclude checkout-return and other sensitive-link URLs. Membership indicators are masked; we do not send your name, email, private answers, photos, or membership identifiers as analytics user IDs. Learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Your choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. Change or withdraw it using “Cookie preferences” on this page, the homepage, or the pricing page. Withdrawing stops future Clarity recording and clears its first-party cookies on PairPlay; it does not automatically delete data already collected. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep this optional analytics off. Essential game and membership storage is not affected by your analytics choice.
Private play and sharing
Your partner does not receive private Couple Court testimony. Shared results do not include private testimony, private answers, or email addresses. If you create a share link, anyone who receives that link may be able to view the shared result until the link is disabled.
Payments, photos, and service providers
Stripe processes subscription checkout and payment details under its own privacy policy. PairPlay receives customer, checkout, and subscription identifiers, but not your full card number. Where Are We? loads interactive 360° street imagery through Google Maps Platform, which may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, browser, and map interactions under the Google Privacy Policy. If an interactive view is unavailable, PairPlay may show an openly licensed Wikimedia Commons photo; each fallback photo links to its creator and license details. We also use hosting, storage, email, and security providers only as needed to operate the service.
Why we process information
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in security and reliability, consent for optional features where appropriate, and compliance with billing or other legal obligations.
Retention
Two-name play-session access and private Couple Court testimony expire after 30 days. Pending Court invitations expire after 7 days. Online rooms and saved private game progress expire after 24 hours. Expired private content is removed by periodic cleanup during site activity. Shared results, optional uploads, subscription records, support messages, and security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the feature, billing, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.
Passwordless membership access
The email used at Stripe Checkout identifies your PairPlay+ membership. On a new device, you can request a single-use sign-in link. Recovery requests are rate-limited and the raw recovery token expires after 15 minutes and is not stored.
Your privacy choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your information, and to object to certain processing. PairPlay does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, visit Data deletion or email privacy@pairplay.io. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.
Adults only
PairPlay is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Do not enter a minor's personal information or include a minor in Couple Court.
Changes
We may update this notice as PairPlay adds games or changes providers. The date above shows the latest version. Transactional game and membership messages do not enroll you in marketing.
